Developed as a major playing and training venue for Athletics, Baseball and Softball for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney, formerly Blacktown Olympic Park, has continued to grow and develop.

Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney AFL/Cricket Centre has fast become a hub for AFL in Western Sydney since opening in 2009. The Sportspark is also home to AFL in Western Sydney hosting a vast array of National, State and Regional events throughout the year. The NAB Cup pre season completion has been a regular fixture at the Sportspark along with the under 16 & under 18 National Championship. Premiership AFL made its debut at the venue in 2012 with Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney hosting the GWS GIANTS and West Coast Eagles Blacktown City’s first ever premiership game. The park also hosted the 2011 AFL international Cup featuring men and women’s teams from the USA, Ireland, Canada, Great Britain, Fiji and New Zealand to name a few. At a grass roots level, AFL continues to thrive at the sport spark with Auskick Clinics, Junior AFL matches, School competition such as the IEC Cup, Paul Kelly Cup and Giants Cup and the State PSSA AFL Carnival.

The Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney Athletics Centre boasting one of only two MONDO synthetic tracks in NSW has become one of the most popular athletics centers in Western Sydney with over 200,000 competitors and spectators utilizing the venue each year for athletics carnivals, training and community events .From March to September each year the Athletics Centre hosts over 100 Primary, Secondary and Zone School Athletics Carnivals along with the Sydney West Primary & Secondary Regional Carnivals. Little Athletics NSW and Athletics NSW also utilize the venue for their Zone and Regional Carnivals and Club Premiership meets. The West link M7 Marathon and Blacktown City Fun Runs are also held at the Athletics Centre along with the annual Blacktown City Cancer Council Relay For Life. Athletes are welcome to train at the venue from Monday to Friday through the purchase of Athletics Permits.


Owned by Blacktown City Council and managed by Blacktown Venue Management Ltd, the venue is utilized by a range of elite sporting groups including the Sydney Blue Sox Australian Baseball League team and the Western Sydney Wanderers FC who are based at the venue. The Sportspark hosts 3700 events which attract half a million visitors each year.
